Overview of Module

This module helps participants evaluate the effectiveness of a fundamental workplace mechanism for on-going improvement of safety and health -- the workplace safety and health committee; includes several tools for identifying and controlling workplace hazards.  Also included in this module are several tools to assist in the identification and control of workplace hazards. 

Module Objectives

  • To increase the effectiveness of worksite safety and health committees in assessing and improving workplace safety and health conditions
  • To promote the use of tools that can assist safety and health committees in identifying and controlling workplace hazards
  • To increase safety and health committees' abilities to engage in strategic planning for improving workplace health and safety conditions
